We believe that if children learn to read, they can do anything and become anyone they can conceive.

All around me I see people turning back to basics, back to the land, and back to simplicity. I think the time has come for my series of children’s books, Down Home on the Farm, to be published. Click the link to view synopses of all seven stories.

It has been one of my greatest disappointments to sit down to read a book to a child to find it  poorly conceived, poorly written, poorly proofed, and poorly edited. I always believed, and raised my children, that books have great power: power to entertain, sure, but also power to build character, power to enliven imaginations, power to plant seeds of greatness for future growth. Therefore, my children's books are written using proper grammar, proper punctuation,  and entire sentences.  I believe the more we practice reading and writing real words and real sentences, the more we will be able to understand and move on to higher levels of learning.

Further, as a Christian writer, it is my devout belief that we have a responsibility to perform whatever we do with excellence.  Again, to slap the term "Christian" on a project (of any sort) and to assume we can do slipshod work simply because Christians are supposed to have "grace" and accept it regardless, is to denigrate the glory and power and honor that is due to Him. He did not give us anything but His best; we have no right to think we can give back to Him (and represent Him in the world) poorly fabricated offerings.

To God be the glory.
